Jumping July – 2014

Seems every time I am going to take it easy – it just gets busier and busier here in Panama. July 1st saw a holiday with the inauguration of our new President, Juan Carlos Varela for the next 5 years. Everyone parties and goes to parties, the inauguration, or whatever. Fun times. July 4th was celebrated by many Ex-Pats, but in a quiet fashion without the fireworks. I chose to stay home and watch “A Capitol Fourth” on TV from the Mall in Washington, D.C. I have always loved the show and the fabulous fireworks following and just feel very patriotic with my own celebration. I keep promising myself to go there and be part of it at some point, and maybe I will just do it! Never did when I lived there, but that was many years ago and perhaps it is time for a “patriotic” re-visit.

On July 8, I was installed into Rotary by our President and founder of Rotary Playa Coronado, Jackie Kendziorek as well as Rodrigo A. Teran D., a Gobernador from 2012 – 2013. read more…
