Fabulous, Fantastic February 2020

I call this month Fabulous and Fantastic because it is my birth month and no matter what, there will always be “FUN” times with friends!

Altho I did nothing special this year and no travel, it was still a very rewarding and fun month for me-! I have still been very low key and just getting myself and my physical being re-settled slowly but surely. Have not jumped into anything yet, just taking my time, but as one friend said to me and others recently: “Watch out for when Phyllis does decide to be involved again!” We will see.
Still struggling four months later with the leaks in the 2nd bedroom as well as my office. Think they have finally found out what the problems were and got them fixed. At this point, my walls seem to be drying out and if they stay this way, they will hopefully have things fixed for me within the next 3-4 weeks. I would so much like to be able to live and enjoy this entire Condo! So we shall see. With my Landlord in the states, he doesn’t worry about anything as he has me (ha ha ha)!!!
Altho my friend from Wyoming, Deanna has been here for a long visit this time, I really did not get to see her until called and told that Kevin (her husband) was going to be here for a short time. I went for dinner and a most delightful evening at their home on the beach in Gorgona.

It was great catching up with their lives and their kids and grandkids. A really terrific family. I loved the ocean breezes blowing all evening. With “dry season” (no rain), the weather at the beaches has really been great! Good breathing for relaxation.
Had another lovely evening with friends Brent and Cheri at Las Bovedas one Friday evening. They are from Canada, as most of the expats in this area are.

They have a magnificent and the largest home down at the beach here at Vista Mar. Since they are now retired, many of us are hoping they will spend more time here in Panama as they come and go!
Another evening found me having dinner at Lisa and Paul’s home with other friends, Barb and Joe. That was yet another delightful evening with excellent food cooked by Lisa who happens to be an excellent cook.

Why not- she and Paul hail from Belgium originally but have lived all over Europe and just spend part of the year here in their home. And the other time, they are at their home in Marbella, Spain!
Relaxed late one afternoon at Boga Bar down at our Marina. Truly relaxing on the water with again- the ocean breezes! Living the life and trying hard to totally relax!

On my Birthday, had a wonderful dinner with dear friend Isabel at Luna Rosa. We both love the authentic Italian Restaurant and their food is always excellent. YES, with all of this eating, I have put on a few pounds – but have been walking a lot and trying to get it off.

As you can tell , its a tough life here in Panama!!!!

We had a great evening when Cheri and Brent’s son Chris came for a short visit with his charming girlfriend Alyse. They came up to the Condo for Drinks and Hors D’oeuvres, along with Lisa and Paul before we went to Las Terazzas here, for dinner and entertainment one evening. So much fun with wonderful people!

Since I have been in this eating “thing” – made myself a delicious Brunch one Sunday morning and just totally relaxed and enjoyed it all, including some good Champagne. Pictured is Caviar Pie.

It is supposed to be topped with Sour cream so it looks like a frosting but I cannot have dairy products, so I just top the delicious egg salad with Caviar and have to enjoy it that way!. Doesn’t your heart just bleed for me?????????No, I do not eat the whole plate there. That is at least FOUR servings!!

Cheri decided one afternoon at the last minute since she had company visiting and they were all leaving in two days that she was having an impromptu Wine and Cheese Get-together. I am posting a picture I got of most of the guests (no names as I do not know them all) Then I am posting a picture of what Barb did with the picture to really make it a FUN photo!!!!. This was, after all, Mardi Gras time in New Orleans and Carnivale all over South America and certainly here in Panama! She is so clever and talented with her iPad. I guess I should take some lessons and learn but heck- would just leave it to her. Other things I really want to get into! Here’s to you Barb and just know I wish I had you in my back pocket!!!

And the month ends with a lovely luncheon in honor of Donna’s Birthday at Boga Bar. Sorry, no photos – I was unprepared today! (the 28th)

To tell you all, this was definitely an eating month is no tall tale as you have just read!. You have witnessed what I have documented here. But I did promise myself that I would lose it all in March and I will be good about what goes into my mouth. And I will. I don’t like the “full” and “bloated” feeling. I am also confident when this Condo is finally finished, that additional stress will leave and I will get back to a more normal routine. And with that dear family and friends, another month has gone by in our lives. I have loved talking to so many this past month and catching up as well as the emails. I have taken a sabbatical from FaceBook as I find it takes up much too much time. I do find myself browsing once in a while, but getting out of that habit too. Eventually I will find another platform or not, but for now, too many ads and it is not what it used to be. If there is news that is important, I will get it eventually. So all, lets keep in touch the normal way. Wishing you all well, and I certainly do hope the Coronavirus eludes so many of you that are literally in other parts of the world!. I know we lose more folks with the flu annually, but this thing is just scary and I do feel personally that it has been blown way out of proportion. Just my opinion!.  Love to you all until next time………………………………………..
